About EXIF removal
EXIF (Exchangeable Image File Format) is metadata stored inside photos. It contains information about the camera, date, GPS coordinates, author and even the device serial number.
Our tool removes EXIF directly in your browser by redrawing the image via Canvas API. Metadata is not carried over to the new image. The file is not uploaded to the server.
Why remove EXIF
- Privacy: GPS coordinates can reveal your home or office.
- Anonymity: camera model and serial number — a unique fingerprint.
- Smaller size: metadata takes from 5 to 100 KB.
- No upload: file is not sent to the server.
How to use
- Drop the photo into the upload area.
- Wait 1-2 seconds.
- Click "Download without EXIF".
Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF? EXIF is metadata inside an image: camera, date, GPS, author. Can reveal personal information.
What formats are supported? JPG, JPEG, PNG and WebP. All of them can contain metadata.
Is quality lost? No. The image is redrawn 1:1, all pixels are preserved. Only metadata is removed.
What about PNG transparency? PNG is saved as PNG — transparency is preserved. JPG does not support transparency.
